Obituary
Mary L. Litsey was born in Parke county, Indiana, April 11, 1844. She died January 8, 1909, aged 64 years, 8 months and 27 days.

At the age of seventeen she was converted and united with the New Light Christian church. Later she changed her membership to the M.E. church.

On January 2, 1862 she was married to John W. Bacus at Annapolis, Indiana. To this union were born five children, four of whom survive, one dying in infancy.

In January 1882 she with her husband and three children, moved to their farm near Howard, Kansas, where they continued to reside until about three years ago, when they moved to thier present home.

In 1894 she joined the Howard M.E. church of which she was a member at the time of her death. Having been an invalid for the last 25 years, she was prevented from taking an active part in church work but her life was an example of Christian patience and love. She was a member of the Columbia chapter of the Eastern Star.

She leaves a husband and three children here and a daughter and two brothers in Indiana.

The funeral services of the deceased were held at the home Sunday at 2 p.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. E.C. Creager. The Eastern Star, of which she was a member, was present in a body and the beautiful burial service was at Grace Lawn cemetery.

A good woman has gone to her reward.
