U.S. Congressman. During the Revolutionary War, he served as a brigade quartermaster and later commanded a company during the Whisky Rebellion of 1794. He was a justice of the peace, (1791-1800) and a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, (1804-08). In 1811, he was elected as a Republican to the Twelfth Congress, serving until 1813. He died at age 66 near Bristol, Pennsylvania.
