ANNA CHRISTINA REESE SCHLOTFELDT, Daughter of JOCHIM REESE, B. 1784 in Hofeld, near Bordesholm of the Kiel Area of Germany and wife, ANNA HILBERT, born 1787 at Grevenkrug, Germany Daughter of CHRISTINA MARGARETA (DEHLFS) REESE. She was a real pioneer farm wife who came to the new American lands to own their own property. They braved the trip and the work of creating new lands and raising and educating their children. (The Schlotfeldt family descendants, who are researchers, have some of her letters (in German) mailed from McCausland to her daughter ANNA KUHL in Washington state. (Note that their headstones are also written in German. McCausland and much of Scott County was settled by Germans in the time of the 1840s and 1850s.)
