In 1880, she is 11 years old living with her family in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. In 1890, she married James Francis McGanney in Sacramento, California. In 1900, they are living next door to his widowed mother Mary and his sister Anna. They have four children. In 1902, his mother dies. In 1903 they are living in San Francisco where their fifth child is born. Her husband gets sick in 1907 and returns to Smartsville to recover, but instead he dies at age 44, leaving her a widow with 5 children. She lives in San Francisco another 45 years until 1952. She is buried in the McGanney plot on the opposite side of her husband. Her Quinkert parents and brother are buried nearby in the main Smartsville Catholic Cemetery. Children raised and educated in this old gold mining area of small rural villages went on to noteable accomplishments, but with a desire to return to their happy childhood roots in eternal rest.
