FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR JAMES F. JOHNSON SUNDAY

James F. Johnson, 73, died Thursday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m. after an extended illness. Born in Scipio, September 6, 1862, he was the son of Benjamin and Mary Jane Johnson,. He was a member of the Elders Quoram in the LDS Church. He was a successful farmer and stock grower. He was very frugal and always lived within his means. He married Josephine Peterson, December 15, 1887.

Surviving are four children; Bert and Doyle Johnson of Scipio, Chloe Ivie and Edith Golvinner of Los Angeles. Funeral services were held in the Scipio Ward Hall at 2 p.m. Sunday with Bishop J. Wells Robins presiding. Singing by Ila and Burke Mathews and also by Con D. Robins. Invocation was by Jesse B. Martin and the grave was dedicated by Arthur C. Brown. Burial was in the Scipio cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Taylor and Vilate Strong were in attendance at the funeral from Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Cowley and Mr. and Mrs. Powtress from Meadow and Mr. Arthur C. Brown from Fillmore also attended the services.
