The News (Frederick, MD) February 12, 1937

James P. Gott, well-known resident of Montgomery county, died suddenly at 7:15 o'clock Thursday morning in Washington of heart trouble, aged 70 years.

He was formerly a farmer in the Buck Lodge section but moved to Washington a number of years ago and was employed by the District government. He resided on Monroe street in Rockville.

Mr. Gott was a son of the late Benjamin and Rebecca Gott and is survived by his widow, formerly Mrs. L. Pearl Atwell, and the following children: Mrs. Bernard Brosius, Rockville: Mrs Robert Williams, Boyds; Mrs Emerson Rush, Rockville; Miss Hallie Gott, Rockville: Mrs Oliver B. White, Santa Monica, Calif; Mrs. Ernest Allnutt, Baltimore: Mrs. Franklin Troost, Holt, Mich; James Perry Gott, Detroit; also the following brothers and sister, Eugene C. and H. LeRoy Gott, Washington: Benjamin C. Gott, Annapolis, and Miss E. Beall Gott, Washington.

He was a member of the Episcopal church.

The funeral will take Saturday at 2 p. m. from the late residence in Rockville. Interment in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. William B. Hilton, funeral director.
