Rose was the 2nd of 4 children of Hugh and Biddy McDermott Tinley who emigrated to Illinois about 1850, from County Cavan, Ireland. Biddy died on the trip up the Mississippi from New Orleans to Illinois.

A WELL KNOWN
WOMAN IS DEAD
Mrs. Rosie Tinley Ernst, wife of A.
J. Ernst, died this morning at 10:20
o'clock, at the home of her daughter,
Mrs Bat Curry of 1112 North Eighth
street, with whom she had been mak-
ing her home. She had been ill one
month with a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Ernst was born in County Cavan,
and was aged 71 years, She came to
America when young, and had lived
here many years, becoming well
known and highly respected. She is
survived by seven sons, Frank, a
member of the Quincy police force;
John, Hugh, Joseph, George, Walter
and Edward, all of Quincy: three
daughters, Mrs. Bat Curry and Mrs.
Edward Dempsey of Quincy and Mrs.
Thomas Kircher of Ellington. There
are also one brother, Frank Tinley,
of St. Joseph, Mo.; one sister, Mrs.
Helen Manley of St Joseph, and twen-
ty-two grandchildren.

DEATHS ---FUNERALS
The funeral of the late Mrs. Rose
Tinley Ernst will take place Friday
morning from the home of her daugh-
ter, Mrs. Bat Curry, 1112 North Eighth
street, at 8:30, and at 9 o"clock from
St. Rose of Lima church. Interment
at St. Peter's cemetery. Friends in-
vited. Please omit flowers.
