Statesboro - Earl Franklin Allen, 55, died Tuesday at Sumter County Hospital in Americus after a short illness. He was a native of Louisiana and lived in Statesboro for several years before moving to Macon. He was a graduate of Statesboro High School, was a veteran of World War II and was a Baptist.

Surviving are a son, David Turner Allen of Atlanta; and five sisters, Mrs. A. W. Schrepel of Statesboro, Mrs. Mattie Belle Holzer of Schuykill Haven, Pa., Mrs. Sam Norris of Andersonville, Mrs. Jaunita Ellis of Americus and Mrs. Gerrald Strozzo of Brooklet.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro. Barnes-Hodges Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge.
