He died in Woodville, Calumet County, Wisconsin.
Obituary "Der Christliche Botschafter":
translated from German
"WOLFMEIER--brother Johann Georg Wolfmeier, born May 15, 1829, in Ensenweiler, O.A. Gerabronn, Wurttemberg, passed away, as we hope, blessed by the Lord, May 10, of this year in Woodville, Calumet County, Wis. at the age of 50 years, 11 months, 25 days, from a stomach illness. In 1857 he married Eva Barbara, born Kellermann, with whom he had a happy marriage for 21 years. She passed away in 1877. Also three of his children died. There are still 9 children living, and they are mourning over his death, and also relatives in Germany. In the year 1865 he joined our church and shortly after that he accepted the Lord. In the 11 years that he served, he was a faithful and well liked leader and S.S.(Sunday) Superintendent, He should have heard: "Come, you faithful servant of the Lord," etc. After I gave him communion, which he really deserved, he said: "I liked going to you very much." The Lord bless the dear children, who are now without a mother and father, and may He help them toward a reunion in heaven."

Ganz sorgenvoll auf dieser Erde
Rief Gott Dich hin zur bessern Welt
Damit Dir dort die Ruhe werde
Wo keine edle Freude fehlt.
Full of cares on this earth
God called you to a better place
To get peace(ease of mind)
Where no noble joy is missing
