John M. Bailey, 63, a Martinsville resident all of his life, died at his home at 210 West Washington Street this morning at 4 o'clock. He had been in failing health for three years.
Born July 30, 1889, in Jefferson Township, he was the son of John Wesley and Hannah Kimble Bailey. In February 1917 he was married to Effie Anna Purvis, who survives. He was a carpenter and brick mason.
The funeral has been set for Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Cure and Hensley Funeral Home, with the Rev. David E. Leffler in charge. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in the Mount Olive Cemetery.
Surviving besides the wife are a foster son, Luther Curtis, a sister, Mrs. Edith Wood of Miami, Fla., and two brothers, Otis Bailey and Joseph Bailey, both of Indianapolis.
