LOUIS HENSCHEL

Louis Henschel, 78, retired Town of Meeme farmer, died shortly before noon Tuesday at the farm home after a lingering illness.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James church at Spring Valley. The Rev. Carl G. Schmall will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born in 1874 in the town of Meeme and in 1904 married Ella Arnoldi of Howards Grove. He made his home on the farm of his parents for one year and then took over the operation of the homestead farm which he operated for 43 years.

In 1948 he turned the farm over to a son Harvey, but coninued to make his home there to the time of his death. He had been in ill health for the past five years.
He was a member of the St. James Evangelical ad Reformed church in Meeme since 1904 and from 1937 to 1940 served as a member of the church consistory.

Surviving besides his widow, are three sons, Herbert of the Town of Meeme, Leslie of Spring Valley and Harvey at home; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Schmitt of School Hill and Mrs. Clarence Stolzmann of Cleveland; a brother, Charles of
Meeme; six sisters, Mrs. Susan Eckhart and Mrs. Ida Guetschow of Sheboygan, Mrs. Mary Gosse of Longwood, Clark County, Wis., Mrs. Louise Boeldt of Manitowoc,
Mrs. Edna Schuette of New Holstein and Mrs. Alma Wernecke of Cleveland and 12 grandchildren.
