Irma S. Schmitt, 78, of 614 10th St., Kiel, died Saturday evening, December 29, 1990 at Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein, where she had been a resident for the past 2 ½ months.
The former Irma Henschel was born on May 13, 1912 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Louis and Ella Arnoldi Henschel. She attended school in Spring Valley.
On September 1, 1934, she married Albert Schmitt at St. James United Church of Christ in Spring Valley. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1984. She was employed at the former Hanson Glove Factory in Kiel and for 15 years at Lake to Lake in Kiel. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners and its Ladies Aide.
Survivors include her husband, Albert; two brothers, Leslie Henschel, rural Kiel; Harvey Henschel, Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. Verona (Clarence) Stolzmann, Cleveland. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, with Rev. James Bartz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
