Obituary for Lola Virginia Kinsley:

Lola V. (Smith) Kinsley, a resident of Omaha, NE, was called back home on April 14, 2011 at the age of 90. Lola was born on September 27, 1920 in Omaha to Roy E. Smith and Pearl Ethel Grindle. She was one of eight Children, three girls and five boys. Lola loved her family and attended church, meeting her future husband at church. She married Lloyd E. Kinsley on her twenty-first birthday in 1941. She stayed with her parents while Lloyd and her brothers went off to war leaving Lola and her parents to raise her first son, Richard, Who was born in 1943. After WWII, Lola's second son, Darrell was born. Lloyd worked in sales and later in electrical construction. The family moved to Southern California in 1960 for a warmer work environment and a healthier climate for the family. Three of Lola's brothers had also moved to the greater Los Angeles area which made it possible for the families to enjoy spending time together. Lola loved hosting Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners at their home, and continued the tradition long after two of her brothers and Lloyd had passed away. Lola moved back to Omaha after Richard moved to Nebraska and Darrell and his family joined the Army and moved away. Although her grandson, Ken, spent as much time as possible with her it had become lonely.
Lola continued to host Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at her home after she relocated to Omaha for whatever family members were still around. Lola eventually was unable to continue the dinners and would join her nephew, Al Todd, and family for Thanksgiving. They would get together for Easter and Christmas too. Lola tried to always keep in touch with her family and friends. After Lola was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, she moved in with her son, Richard and his wife who had built her an addition on their home. She stayed there to the end with only an occasional stay at a hospital as needed and a respite stay at Papillion Manor just before hospice care.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one plus years, her parents and Lloyd's parents. All her brothers and sisters, a grandson, a nephew and all of Lloyd's siblings and their spouses. Lola was very close to each of these individuals and will be grateful for this eternal family reunion. Lola leaves behind her son's and their wives, three grandchildren and their spouses, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her dearly loved cousins from Iowa. Lola will be remembered and live on in the minds and hearts of all those who knew her.
