Mrs. Minnie Sothman, 86, a former Cumberland area resident, died early Saturday morning at the Griswold Care Center.
The daughter of Henry and Hannah Bebensee Frank, she was born near Lorah, Nov. 28, 1892, and moved with her parents to a farm south of Atlantic at the age of two. She was married to Henry Mark Sothman Jan. 26, 1916, in Atlantic and they farmed in Noble Township. Mrs. Sothman lived most of her life in Noble Township until moving to the Griswold Care Center in February, 1978. She attended the Lyman Gospel Hall.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Merle (Arlene) Riepe of Griswold, Mrs. Lloyd (Aletha) Sanny of Pineville, Mo., Mrs. Berdale Petersen of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Marcella Ridlen of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. John Becker of Cumberland, Mrs. Lynn (Luella) Costello of Imogene and Mrs. Don (Janet) Thompson of Elkland, Mo.; two sons, Kermit Sothman of Cumberland and Orlin Sothman of Seneca, Mo.; 39 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Brillhart of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Nov. 27, 1957; her parents; three sisters, Ella and Agnes Tanner and Dora Brillhart; two brothers, Roy and George Frank.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Roland Funeral Home, with Fred Meyer of Cumberland officiating. Interment will be in the Weirich Cemetery southeast of Lyman.
The family will meet relatives and friends from 7:30-8:p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
