"RUSTING - In Berkeley, April 4, 1912, Frank C. Rusting, belove wife of Bernardina Rusting, loving father of Mrs. Edmund Knoll, Joseph F., John J., Frank J., Anna M., Rose M., Margaret M., Lawrence J., Bernadina M., Elizabeth M., Clara M. and Anthony J. Rusting, a native of Germany, aged 62 years, 3 months and 18 days."

Frank (Franz) Christian Rusting (Rustige) was born on 17 Dec 1849 in Effeln, Westphalia, Germany. His parents were Laurenz Rustige and Maria Margaretha Glahr. He immigrated with his family arriving in New Orleans 05 Nov 1851 on the ship Robert Cobden. The family settled Robinson Township, Posey Co., Indiana. He married Bernandina "Dena" M. Kirchoff 19 Apr 1887. They settled in Zell, Groveland Township, Spink Co., South Dakota. They had 12 children, 9 in Zell, South Dakota, 2 in Santa Rosa, California and 1 in Oakland, Alameda Co., California. All 12 children reached adulthood.
