Dodridge Akers, father of Councilman Jerry Akers, died at the home of his son-in-law, Luther Bailey, in Green Valley, Sunday afternoon. The deceased was 67 years of age, was reared in Bland county, but had been living in this section for some time. He leaves many relatives and several children, some of whom reside in this city. Interment was made at Rocky Gap this afternoon. The funeral service was conducted by Rev Thomas Priddy.
