Estela G. Aguire passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on August 27, 2008. Estella was born on November 1, 1922 in Uvalde, Texas. She resided in San Antonio until 1970 when she and the love of her life, Max Aguirre, moved to Mason, Texas.

During Estela's lifetime she established a firm belief in Christ, unconditional love for family and friends, and a legacy of always lending a helping hand.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and being an active member in her church. Her most prized possessions were her children.

Estela is survived by her husband Max Aguirre of Mason; her children Ann Fellers and husband Richard, Beatrice Contreras, Margie Kjeldsen and husband Charlie, Cantuo G. "Ken" Hernandez of San Antonio, TX; Jessie Hernandez and his wife Mercedes of San Angelo, TX; Josie Chavarria and husband Jose Luis, Estella Ramirez and husband Mike of San Saba, TX; Mary Ramones and her husband Joe of Brady, TX; grandchildren who were raised by Estela as her very own include: Melva Menchaca of Mason, TX, Tino Montellano of Mason, TX, and Rudy Flores of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by a son Max Aguirre Jr.

Estela possessed an abundant amount of love to which no words can give justice and she passed that love on to her 112 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was respected and loved and will be missed greatly by all. Gramo we love you and you will always remain in our hearts.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Mason with Rev. Carlos Cruz officiating. Interment followed in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Freddy Sapien, Eli Castillo, Johnny Menchaca, Jimmy Menchaca, Javier Villareal and Max Palacio. Honorary pallbearers were Victor Castillo, Hector Bireles, Roberto Villareal and Donald Ziriax.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mason Funeral Home.
