Calais – Sallee Ann McShane, 72, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Calais Regional Hospital. Sallee was born in St. Stephen, N.B. on September 14, 1936, daughter of Frederick and Margaret (Redding) Talbot. She graduated from Milltown High School in Milltown, N.B. and was employed as a nurse's assistant for Calais Regional Hospital for over 30 years. Sallee was a faithful member of the Calais United Methodist Church where she was the organist and a member of the United Methodist Women. She served on the Board of Directors for the Calais Methodist Homes, was member of the Sweet Adelines, and volunteered as a care giver and with hospice. Sallee's love for animals led her to rescue many in need. She enjoyed playing the organ, gardening, crafts, cooking, bird watching and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sallee was predeceased by her husband, Paul McShane, and a daughter, Ann Marie Speedy. Surviving are her mother, Margaret Talbot of Rockland; her son, Robert McShane of Calais; her daughter Paula McShane of Calais; son-in-law, Butch Speedy of St. Stephen, N.B.; two brothers, Ted Talbot and wife Shirley of Owls Head, and Robert Talbot and wife Jo of Rockland; four grandchildren, Brad and Jason Speedy of St. Stephen, N.B., Tristan Greenlaw of Fredericton, N.B., and Jackson Greenlaw of Calais; many nieces and nephews.
