A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 Wed at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Plaquemine for Percy Joseph Simoneaux, 74, a native and resident of Plaquemine, who died at 1:05 p.m. July 8, 2002.

Visitation will be from 5-9 today and from 8 to 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Grace Memorial Park mausoleum.

He was the father of Lyle J., Scott C. and David L Simoneaux; father-in-law of Patricia G., Angela C. and Aimee C. Simoneaux; brother of Beverly S. Fourroux and Leroy P. Simoneaux; and grandfather of Victoria Ashley, Lyle Taylor, Franklin and Christopher Scott Simoneaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudette Naquin Simoneaux; parents, Alvin Joseph and Maude Renting Simoneaux; and granddaughter, Brittany Angelle' Simoneaux.

He was involved in scouting and received the Silver Beaver Award.

A retired bindery superintendent with Franklin Press and a native and resident of Plaquemine, he died at 1:05 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 74.

Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8-10:40 am Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Vic Messina. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Survived by three sons and daughters- in-law, Lyle J. and Patricia Guidry Simoneaux, Franklin, Scott C. and Ange la Campbell Simoneaux, Baton Rouge, and David L. and Aimée Caillet
Simoneaux, Bayou Goula; a sister, Beverly S. Fourroux, Plaquemine; a brother, Leroy P. Simoneaux, Gonzales; and three grandchildren, Victoria Ashley and Ly le Taylor Simoneaux, both of Franklin, and Christopher Scott Simoneaux, Baton Rouge.

Preceded in death by his wife, Claudette Naquin Simoneaux; parents, Alvin Joseph and Maude Keating Simoneaux; and a granddaughter, Brittany Angellé Simoneaux. He had a lifelong devotion to scouting and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, Award of Merit, Quinipiassa Lodge Founders Award and Quinipiassa Lodge Arrowman of the Year Award. He was a member of the Vigil Order of the Arrow, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council 970 and Plaquemine Lions Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America Istrouma Area Council, P.O. B ox 66676, Baton Rouge, LA 70896 or St. John Alumni Association Memorial Fu nd, P.O.
