Eliza F. Thurston Capps was the daughter of Rev. George Washington Thurston and Elizabeth Davis Mays Thurston. She was married to James "Jim" Washington Capps.
Their children were Infant Capps (died before 1900), George Wesley Capps (1875-1949), William Franklin Capps (1877-1937), Lena Capps Cowan (1880-?), Mera Francis "Fannie" Capps Bledsoe (1881-1965), Emma Gene Capps Rivers (1884-1944), Green Orville Capps (1886-1967), and Susan "Susie" Itha Capps Hicks, (1888-1957).
