Louis A. Alber
EDINA, Mo. — Louis A. Alber, 88, of Edina, a farmer, died Monday evening (Dec. 14, 1992) in Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville.
Born June 25, 1904, southeast of Edina, Mr. Alber was a son of Otto A. and Mary Gertrude Costello Alber. He married Thelma Luke Aug. 19, 1929, in Edina. She survives.
Mr. Alber was raised in Knox County and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1921. He farmed for most of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. C. L. Alber of Kahoka, and Leon Alber of Jefferson City; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Dorothy) Moore of Baring; two sisters, Mrs. Regina Swann of Edina, and Mrs. Lloyd (Ellen) Baker of Oskaloosa, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Alber was preceded in death by four brothers, Otto, John, George, and one in infancy.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina by the Rev. Clarence Wiederholt and the Rev. Tom Alber. Burial will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery in Edina.
Visitation will be held 2-9 today with family meeting friends 7-9 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina.
Memorials may be made to Knox County Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor's choice.
