Enrique Galindo Garcia was born to Maria Lyles Galindo and Ysidro Martin Garcia Jr on 27 Sept 1921 in Balmorhea, Texas. His Baptismal Padrinos were Hemerigildo Galindo, his Grandfather, and Manuela Torres at St Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County, Texas. Henry was inducted into Military Service for World War II on 6 July 1943 at Fort Bliss in El Paso as a Truck Driver, Heavy. He served in the 16th Armored Division in World War II. The 16th Armored Division was officially activated on 15 July 1943 at Camp Chaffee in northwest Arkansas. His Division was assigned to the Third U.S. Army under General Patton and entered Germany on 19 April 1945. His unit participated in the Normandy Invasion and was key in establishing a post-war plan in Eastern Europe when liberating Pilsen in Czechoslavakia on 6 May 1945.
