Radio disk jockey. She began her career at WHOD Radio in Homestead, Pennsylvania on August 1,1948. She is widely recognized as the first black female disc jockey in America. When WHOD changed call letters and became WAMO Pittsburgh, she moved to Baltimore. She died in Philadelphia of cancer at age 48. She was the sister of Mal Goode, who became the first black network newscaster in 1962 for ABC-TV.
