Funeral services for Miss Mildred Talkington were held Tuesday afternoon, September 6, 1960, in the First Methodist Church in Verden, OK, with the Reverend James Wilkerson officiating. Casket bearers were nephews, Donald Talkington of Cement, Earl Talkington of Healdton, Bryant Manning and O.E. Manning of Oklahoma City and Lee Talkington and Bill McComas of Verden. A quartet composed of Mrs. Dale Henricks, Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mrs. Aubrey Finley, and Mrs. C.E. Warburton sang "No Night There", "Beyond the Sunset", and "Rock of Ages", accompanied by Mrs. Donald Brown.

Mildred Louise Talkington was born August 14, 1911, in Verden, OK, and passed away in the Anadarko Hospital September 4, 1960. Miss Talkington had been in poor health for several years from an electrical accident in her youth. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.

Survivors are three brothers, Will Talkington of Hydro, Sam and Fred Talkington of Verden; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Dodson of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Susie Frick and Mrs. Cora Fowler of Verden , Mrs. Inez Smith of Lindsay, and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment was in the Verden cemetery under direction of Hansen Funeral Home. The Verden News, September 9, 1960
