Wayne served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a peanut farmer, Teacher/Coach/Principal of the Oney Schools & Supt. of the Ft. Cobb Schools. He married Joyce Jeanette Edwards on July 12, 1952 in Caddo Co., OK. They had two daughters: Carol Kay Barnes & Tina Dalphine Buchanan. Three granddaughters and one grandson. He also had one sister Joella Hiser Albright. He died from bladder cancer.
