Mary L. Tripi, 91, formerly of Benton Harbor, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Mar. 6, 2002, at Jordan Nursing Home, Bridgman.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Benton Harbor with the Rev. Larry Kroll officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m., today at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following the services. Memorials may be made to Lake Michigan Catholic School.

Mary was born Mar. 1, 1909, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Virginia (Damico) Tripi and moved with the family to Michigan as a teenager. Later she worked in the family's business. Mary was a devoted daughter caring for her aging parents. She was a member of St. John's and St. Bernard's Parish, belonged to the Altar Society for many years and cared for the altar at St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sister, Josephine Damico of Benton Harbor, and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and four brothers, James, Thomas, Joseph and Louis Tripi, preceded Mary in death. Her family will sadly miss her.
