Scheidt, a native of Russia, age 70 years; beloved husband of Katherine Scheidt of Fresno; loving father of Mrs. Lydia Gross, Fresno; Elsie Adolph, Fresno; Mrs. Hannah Gross, San Francisco; Chris Scheidt, of Oakland; Henry Scheidt, of Sacramento; Jack and Ted Scheidt, both of Fresno; seven children, sixteen grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren also survive. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services to be held in the Zion Congregational Church, E and Monterey Streets, Wednesday morning, August 23, 1944, at ten o'clock. Rev. J.N. Sauer officiating. Internment Mountain View Cemetery, under the direction of the West Side Chapel, 502 D Street. (John Esheim, Sr. in charge.)

GEORGE J. SCHEIDT
George J. Scheidt, 79, of 460 D Street, for 42 years a resident of Fresno, a retired lumber employee and prominent in the Zion Congregational Church, died in his home yesterday after a short illness. He was a native of Russia.
Scheidt served as a deacon of the church for several years and was prominent in his committee work.
He is survived by four sons, Jack Scheidt of Fresno, secretary of the Fresno Baker's Union, and Theodore Scheidt of Fresno, Chris Scheidt of Oakland, and Henry Scheidt of Sacramento; three daughters, Mesdames Hannah and John Gross of San Francisco and Fresno, and Mrs. Elsie Adolph of Fresno; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The West Side Funeral Chapel is in charge.
