DEATH: Death Cert; 1998; Dept of Hlth, Winnebago Co. WI; Vol 181, pg 307. Fred had been hospitalized in Ripon after which he was transferred to Omro Care Center, a nursing home, to recuperate. A few days before he was to be discharged he was found with the nurse response cord wrapped around his neck. Although no autopsy or toxicology tests were performed, Winnebago Co. coroner Barry Busby declared the death to be a suicide. There was also no note or witnesses. Correspondence with the D.A., Coroner, and State Nursing Home Board are in the possession of niece Lois Heidner.
BURIAL: Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon in Lots 69 and 70. He is buried with wife Ruby and Ruby's parents.
There is a shared monument. A receipt for purchase states that Fred Brustman and John Arndt paid $100 on July 7,1954.
