Lebe O. Monago, 83, of 77 Main St., Lewis Run, died Friday in Bradford Hospital.
He was born July 2, 1906, in Lewis Run, a son of Peter and Concetta Monago. On Oct. 26, 1935, in Bradford, he married Linda Marie Monti who died Sept. 13, 1978.
Mr. Monago was employed by Kendall Refinery in Bradford for many years before retiring in 1972. He and his family also owned and operated a general store in Lewis Run for a number of years before its closing in the mid-1950's.
He was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, the Kendall Quarter Century Club, Mutual Aid Society of Lewis Run, the Bradford Coin Club, and the Bradford Stamp Club. He was also a musician in the Bradford area for many years, and had played with the Bradford Citizen's Band.
He is survived by a son, Lebe O. Monago Jr. of Old Bridge, N.J.; four daughters, Sandra Sack of Silver Creek, N.Y., Congetta LePage of Spencerport, N.Y., Dorothea Helms of Toronto, Ontario, and Beverly Kinney of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received after 3 p.m. today in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, East Main Street, where a prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church. The Rev. Howard King, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
