Helen L. Baumgartner, 95, died at 2:25 a.m. April 27, 1998, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born Jan 14, 1903, in Washington Court House to John C. and Eda F. Hayes Durant. She married Olin C. Baumgartner, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baumgartner was an elementary and high school teacher in Orville and Girard. She taught English and drama. She was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan. She received her teaching certificate from Youngstown College and her master's from The Ohio State University. She was a member of Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora, and Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was active in several literary clubs.
Survivors include a son and daughter, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Mathias and Jane Durant.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel. June Thomsen will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant ridge Cemetery, Pandora.
Friends may call one hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Memorial Home.
