Viola Napier Murphy-Neel, 95, of Macon, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011
Mrs. Murphy-Neel was the wife of the late Frederick E. Murphy Jr. and the daughter of the late Hendley V. Napier and the late Viola Ross Napier. She was predeceased by her son, Frederick E. Murphy III. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Thomasville. She was a volunteer at Vashti School and Jerger School in Thomasville, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and taught in the Adult Literacy Program in Thomasville. Mrs. Murphy-Neel was an avid gardener and bird watcher and she had compassion for young people and animals. She also had a love for needlepoint.
Mrs. Murphy-Neel is survived by her daughters and son, Dana, R. Napier and Mary Ann; grandchildren, Frederick IV, Paige, Ross, and Prescott; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ross and Eli; and several nieces and nephews.
