Mildred L. Lasher, age 81, of Pittsford, NY, and formerly of Erie, Pa., passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, N.Y. Arrangements will be announced by the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St (at Powell Avenue,) Erie, Pa.

Mildred 'Mimi' L. Lasher, age 81, of Pittsford, NY, formerly of Erie, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on December 24, 1929, the daughter of the late George A. and Hilda V. Quensen Evans. Mimi attended Mary Washington College, William and Mary College, and Penn State University where she received her Master's Degree in Psychology. She was a longtime active member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, past member of the Erie County Medical Society Auxiliary, award-winning photographer, and avid supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Mimi enjoyed sailing, golfing, sewing, traveling, gardening, and, most of all, being with friends and family. Mimi was preceded in death by brothers Thomas H. Evans and George Evans, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Dr. Jay Donald Lasher; son Mark (Denise) Lasher of Brunswick, Maine; daughters Jayne (Paul) Cooper of Victor, New York; and Laura (Scott) Jenkins of Downingtown, PA. Mimi is also is survived by her grandchildren Anne and James Lasher, and Hannah and Peter Sandstrom; her sisters, Charlotte (Lawrence) Knoll and Catherine Tingstrom; and a loving extended family. Mimi's zest for life and her fabulous sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue), on Sunday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Road, on Tuesday, April 12, at 10:00 am with Reverend James Haas and Reverend Keith Sundberg officiating. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1128 State St # 302, Erie, PA 16501, the Clyde F.
