Kimsey service slated in Moorcroft
SUNDANCE--Funeral services for Roy Francis Kimsey, 83, will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft with the Rev. Ben Adams officiating. Kimsey died Wednesday morning at Polson, Mont.
Masonic services will be conducted by members of the Upton Lodge 38 AF&AM. Burial will be in the Moorcroft Cemetery.
Kimsey was born May 22, 1899, at Chariton, Iowa, to Wilson and Etta Kitselman Kimsey. He moved with his parents to Rock Springs in 1905. He moved to Crook County in 1912 and married Pearl E. Tallman on June 2, 1921, at Newcastle. The couple homesteaded at Flag Butte near Bertha in the Rocky Point area of Crook County. In 1938, the couple moved to a ranch on Buffalo Creek near Moorcroft.
Kimsey was a member of Upton Lodge 38 AF&AM, Upton Chapoter 32 of the Order of Eastern Star, and active in the Farmers Union. He was instrumental in the organization of the Rural Electric Association in the Upton and Sundance area.
Survivors include: one son, Roy K. of Moorcroft; two daughters, Ruth Evely Claar of Moorcroft,and Edith E. Norris of Upton: one brother, Lysle Wilson Kimsey of Springfield, Ore.; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren: and seaveral nieces and nephews. He was preceded in deatah by his wife, five brothers, two sisters, one son, one daughter and his parents.
A memorial has been established in Kimsey's name to the Moorcroft Senior Citizens Center.
