Giacomo Tramonte Sr.
Mr. Giacomo "Jack" Tramonte Sr, 87, of 722 Medina Road, died Tuesday in his home. He was the founder of Akron's Tramonte Distributing Comany in 1940.
Mr. Tramonte, who was born in Sicily, was formerly a grocer in the Akron area and also founded the Tramonte Orchards in Sharon Center in 1926.
Surviving are his widow, Carmela Foti Tramon; one daughter, Mrs. Nina Marino; two sons, Don and Jack Jr. all of Medina; sister Mrs. Anna Cervellione, Akron; 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Akron. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m.Friday in the Ciriello Funeral Home, Cuyahoga Falls.
A wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Fund or the Heart Fund.
