Giuseppe came to America from Santa Ninfa, Sicily. His brother, Antonio and sister, Vitina, were also here. His good friend, Giacomo Tramonte, helped him find work in the Akron Area. At the time of his death from the Spanish Flu in 1918, he was working as a butler/cook/gardener for the Vaughn family in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The home where he most likely worked is still standing. It is near the falls, located very close to Rt. 8 and the hotel now built over the falls.

The Ellis Island ship records indicate that Giuseppe cold neither read nor wright at the time he came to this country. In fulfillment of the American dream, his children became educators, buisnessmen, soldiers for America. Among his great grandchildren are doctors, engineers, authors, immigration lawyers, and teachers. I think he'd be proud of his family and of his wife for raising his four children alone after his young death.
