Alexander W. Morgan was born in Pulaski county, Kentucky, Dec. 15, 1815 and died in Topeka, Kansas, April 13 1891, at the age of 75. He was the son of Rev. Lewis and Nancy Evans Morgan At four years of age he accompanied his parents to Fayette county and then Shelby county, Indiana. It was then wilderness, and as the lad grew up his energies were turned toward such education as he could secure, and good service n the care of the farm and family during his father's absence on Christian duties At 10 he united with the Baptist church to which through life he was always most loyal. His name was enrolled as a member of the first General Association of Indiana, he being the youngest member He was always in favor of the right, broad-minded, and a Baptist true and tried. His death closed the life of a man who went gladly to his Master.

DEATH OF JUDGE MORGAN. Auburn, Neb., April 16. Special. Judge A. W. Morgan, one of the oldest settlers of this county, died yesterday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Ford, in Topeka, Kas. He will be buried today. He is the father of Mrs. W. IL McCreary of Lincoln, and Mr. A. IL Gilmore of this city. He was for many years probate judge of Nemaha county. Hon. Church Howe left today for Hot Spring, Ark.
