FT. BLACKMORE, Va.-- Nora Estelle Peters, 88, our beloved Mother, entered into Heavenly rest on Thursday ( Aug. 22, 2002) at Indian Path Medical Center.
Born in Scott County, Va. on May 16, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Robinson and Mary Delila Lane.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Corbin Henry Peters, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Faye Peters, Ft. Blackmore, Va. and Mary Inez Crabtree, Denison, Tx.; son, Bert Carl Peters, Duffield, Va.; grandchildren, Jenna Smith, New Haven, Ct., Paul Crabtree, denver, Co., and Jay Brown, Denison Tx.; great-grandson, Corbin Lane Brown, Denison, Tx.; sisters, Monnie Gillenwater, Gate City, Va., Maxie McConnell, Ft. Blackmore, Va., and Annale Quillen, Bluffton, In.; one brother, Worley Lane, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Coy Butler and the Rev. Eritt Darnell officiating.
The Lee Smith singers will provide the music. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Peters Cemetery in Ft. Blackmore, Va. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will be meeting at the cemetery for the graveside service.
