Gayle Luke Broxson, 65, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, January 13, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Waycross on December 20, 1939, Mrs. Broxson was the daughter of the late T.J. and Edith Adams Luke and widow of James Crawford "Jimmy" Broxson. She was associated with Luke Realty for 25 years, was active with the Valdosta Senior Citizens Center and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a sister and brother in law, Ruby and David Grumet of Ashburn, Virginia; brother, Tom Luke of Naples, Florida; nieces, Kandice Grumet of San Mateo, California, Kirsten Grumet of Las Vegas, Nevada, nephews, Jason Luke and Alexander Luke of Naples, Florida; several cousins, other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Adams and Reverend John McGowan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
