Lima Myra Simpson was born in Christian County, Illinois on July 27, 1863, the first child to Henry and Mary Simpson. Her birth name I am told was Zulima. In 1885 she married John Houston Young, the son of John Denny Young, and Nancy Wheeler Young. After their first child was born, John and Lima moved to western Missouri. There John farmed in the summer and was a teacher in the winter. Lima was also a teacher.

They had the following Children:

Verna Ceora, married Fred Pfleeger
Virgil Dean
Mabel Loraine, married Merrill Raper
John H. Jr., married Mary Connell
Herschel, died young
Myra Lima, married Victor Innes
Aline Eugenia, married Paul Bergherm
David Asbury, married Ethel Raymond

About 1901, Lima became interested in the teachings of John Alexander Dowie and moved to Chicago, Illinois for a short time, after moving back to Missouri to try to reconcile with John, she had her last child David. In 1906 she finally moved to Zion Illinois, the town set up by Dr. Dowie. John was never interested in Dowieism and stayed in Missouri. Lima raised her children in Zion, and died there in 1939.
