1860: Residing w brother (Isaac Newton McMillan), Lagro PO, Lagro Twsp, Wabash Co, Indiana. Single. Occupation: Farmer. Values: Prperty = $1500, personal property = $300.

Enlisted as a Sergeant in Company B, 47th Infantry Indiana on 15 November 1861. Died of disease on 3 October 1862 at Helena, Arkansas.

NOTE: Brother Isaac Newton McMillan enlisted as a Sergeant in Company A, 75th Infantry Indiana on 25 July 1862. Promoted to First Lieutenant on 7 December 1863. Promoted to Full Captain on 8 April 1864. Mustered Out on 8 June 1865 at Washinhton DC. Married Mary Priscilla Carey in 1866; they were the parents of Cuvius and Algie. Resided in Lagro Twsp, Wabash Co, after the Civil War. Occupation: Farmer. Died Marion Co, Ohio in 1877.
