Old-Time Resident and Young Man Summoned to Great Beyond
Henry Stoll, of whose death brief mention was made in our last issue, was born May 30, 1843 in Saxony-Gotha, Germany. At the age of six he came to America with his parents, who settled in the town of Herman, Sheboygan county. Later they removed to Rockville, where they conducted a flour and sawmill, which the deceased operated up to about 20 years ago.

Mr. Stoll was united in marriage to Wilhelmine Wegner, who passed away in the year 1899. Three years later he was married to Mrs. Maria Pieper of New Holstein, who died in 1916. The last years of his life were spent in New Holstein, he being employed at the Lauson shops for the past five years. He became ill February 6th, and was cared for at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Reichert near Millhome, where he died February 11th, reaching the age of 76 years, 6 months and 11 days.

He leaves two sons, Herman of Kiel and Ferdinand of Rockville, two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Gruhle of Rockville and Mrs. H. Reichert of Millhome, nine grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Schulz of the town of Herman, Sheboygan county, and Mrs. Louis Senglaub of Manitowoc.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, interment being in the Rockville
cemetery, Rev. W. Rech officiated.

Stoll, Henry (May 30, 1843-Feb. 11, 1920 –husband of Wilhelmina Wegner –after Wilhelmina's death on Feb. 16, 1899, Henry re-married to the widow Maria nee Greve Pieper of New Holstein [married Sept. 18, 1901 in a civil ceremony, City of Sheboygan –Marie was born April 15, 1855 in the Town of New Holstein of Andreas Greve [1812-1899] and Celia Margaretha Roeh [1820-1888] and died in 1916 –on April 22, 1875 she married Henry Pieper, who then died of suicide on Jan. 23, 1898, leaving her a widow with 7 children] –son of Friedrich Stoll and Martha Keppler –born at Molschleben in Gotha, Thuringia, Germany –immigrated to the US through Quebec, Canada in May of 1849 with his parents and settled in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County –applied for naturalization on June 9, 1900 –later the family moved to Rockville, Town of Schleswig where they owned a flour and sawmill, of which Henry later became owner –after selling this mill, Henry moved to New Holstein, Calumet County where he worked for the Lauson Company from 1915-1920 –from Nov. 23, 1888 to Nov. 19, 1892 owned the 20 acres of the E1/2 of the NW1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 28, Town of Eaton –on Jan. 10, 1894 purchased these 20 acres back from Ignatz Stauber plus the adjoining 40 acres to the east in the NE1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 28 –sold these 60 acres on Oct. 30, 1895) –buried at the Rockville Cemetery, Town of Schleswig [second marriage record Calumet 3-297]
