Ole Crest was born in Throndhjem, Norway, on February 30, 1855. In 1879 he emigrated to America locating at Eau Clair, Wis., Two years later he was married to Miss Lava J. Braa. In 1884 he moved with his family to Montana and purchased a ranch on Lower Sweet Grass creek, where his family now reside.

He was the father of nine children, five girls and four boys all of whom survivie. He is survived also by his wife, and three brothers - Martin and Albert of this place, and Syver, of Lethbridge, Alta. He was a devout member of the Lutheran Church at Howie, and a man of most exemplary habits.

The funeral, which was largely attended, took place from the Jacob Hoyem residence at Howie Monday at 2 o'clock pm., and the remains were buried in a private cemetary near that place. The pall bearers were Iver Hoyem, Sam Solberg, John Hoff, B. O. Forsythe, Isaac Rostad and B. F. Ryan.
