Lars Larsen and his first wife were the parents of Lars Larsen, Jr. The first wife died in 1852. Lars, Sr. remarried; and, he and his second wife came to America in the spring of 1891 to spend their last years living with Lars, Jr. Lars, Sr. was said to have been honest and energic; and, he was said to have won the respect of all who knew him. His second wife died in January of 1896. After Lars, Sr. died, he was laid to rest beside the grave of his second wife in the family cemetery on his son's homestead.
