Celebrating the homegoing of Mrs. Donnie Barrontine Wilks, age 90 of Sylvania, on April 3, 2011 at her residence.

Her funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Henagar Community Cemetery.

The Rev. David Starling and the Rev. David Patty will be officiating.

Her family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral.

Mrs. Wilks was born in Jackson County, Alabama to the late William Jesse and Joicey Painter Barrontine on Sept. 25, 1920.

Her siblings, who all preceded her in death, were Siller Ivey, Riller Kirby, Bessie Wilks, Hud Barrontine, Paul Barrontine, Albert Barrontine and Jay Barrontine.

She married Russell D. Wilks on Dec. 23, 1937. They had three daughters, Cheryl Jones (Michael), Rhonda Sizemore (Billy) and Debi Sizemore (Charles), all of Sylvania.

Their grandchildren are Rob Jones (Donna), of Huntsville, Steve Jones, of Huntsville, Wade (Janis) Sizemore, of Sylvania, Carley Windsor (John Henry), of Sylvania, Chip Sizemore, of Sylvania, Chad Sizemore (Candace), of Central, and Angela Thomas (Clinton), of Ider.

Great-grandchildren are Ryan and Kathryn Jones, Austin Sizemore, Halle Grace Sizemore and Trent Thomas.

She also loved her many nieces and nephews, to whom she was "Aunt Donnie."

Mrs. Wilks was an active member of Sylvania Baptist Church. She was known for her kind and loving heart and for her wonderful cooking skills. She was loved by her husband and family and will be greatly missed, but we know we'll see her on the other side.
