Peter was born to Peter Kimball Lemmon, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan.

Peter Jr.'s father was a Mormon polygamist, who had two plural wives. Peter Jr. was the first of eight children born to Peter Sr.'s first wife, Elizabeth Buchanan.

Peter Jr.'s father and two families moved to Mexico about 1896 so they could continue practicing polygamy. They lived there until 1912, when they, along with other foreigners, were driven out by Mexican revolutionaries.

While living in Mexico, Peter Jr. married Lois Jeannette Tenney on June 15, 1899 in Colonia Diaz, Chihuahua, Mexico.

After leaving Mexico, Peter Jr. and his family lived briefly in Hachita, New Mexico. They then moved to Columbus, New Mexico, where they lived until 1916, when Pancho Villa, a Mexican revolutionary, raided and burned part of the town.

The family then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Peter Kimball Lemmon, III (1900 - 1968)

Golda Lemmon (1905 - 1988)

Sade Lemmon (1915 - 1996)
Leland Curtis Lemmon (1920 - 1939)
Lela Lemmon (1920 - 2008)

The first five children were born in Mexico, the sixth in Columbus, New Mexico, and the last two, twins, were born in Salt Lake City, Utah.

After his wife died, Peter moved to Pasadena, California where he lived with his sister, Lela Lemmon Caldwell. He died in California, but was buried in Salt Lake City, Utah.
