Dorothy Christine Irby Wade

Dorothy Christine Thedford was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Tyler to Julian Fleming Thedford and Bessie Lee Sparks Thedford.

She lived in Tyler all her life, where she was a network administrator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 38 years and was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Tyler. She was the nursery coordinator at First Baptist and taught children's Sunday school classes for many years. She was a member of the Radio Bible Class and the Pilot Club.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Guy Martin Irby and Travis E. Wade, and by a brother, Jack D. Thedford.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family: two daughters and sons-in-law; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Martha and Clint Wrotenbery of Grand Prairie and Betty Bowlin of Tyler; sisters-in-law, Shirley Thedford of Fort Worth, Margaret Irby of Houston, Martha Crone of Tyler; brother-in-law, Bobby Crone of Tyler.

Dorothy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Tyler.
Services were held in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Tracy Crawford officiating. She was laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
