He married Mae Morgan Herman September 8, 1899.
The 1900 U.S. Census shows him in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas, age 26, day laborer born Sep 1873 his wife May born November 1877 in Kansas.
In 1902 his young wife died and he left his little son, Leslie Lawrence in the care of her family. His father was murdered in Oklahoma and "Lud" went on to travel to New Mexico and California.
1910 U.S. Census Fresno, Fresno County, California. His family is living on K Street. William L. Crow age 38, married six years. He was a canvaser, books.
Ethel P., wife 25 years old, married once for six years having given birth to three living children.
Dorothy daughter age 4 born in California.
Olga daughter age 2 born in California
Kenneth E. son age 7/12 born in California
