Jewel was the daughter of Bartholomew "Bart" Newton Millollon (1881-1918) and his wife, Allie Bessie Gilliam (1888-1964). Jewel's father, Bart died at age 37 of tuberculosis. Her mother later married Stephen Bradley Canon.


Jewel married Myron Hutchison Embrey on 2 Mar 1929 at Brownwood, Brown County, Texas.

Letha Lindley (1848-1910), she married her cousin; Letha's father, Samuel P. Lindley and Bart's mother, Sarah, were siblings

Samuel Lindley (abt. 1808-aft.1880 ) - married Letha Turner on 29 Dec 1833 at Randolph County, Arkansas. They resided in Hopkins County, Texas (on US Census, 1860, 1870 & 1880 in Hopkins Co., TX)
