Margaret Joan Birkhead, 86, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 11:23 P.M. on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
She was born on Sunday, August 19, 1923 in England the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Nutley.
Surviving family members include her Son: Ron White and wife Diane of Bluford, Illinois; Daughter: Margaret Anne Turner of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 Brothers: Pete Nutley of England and Gordon Nutley and wife Pat of England; 10 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Her parents, three brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law: Charles Amos Turner preceded her in death.
Joan worked in a paper factory in England and later was a clothes presser at a dry cleaners; was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post #1376 and was of the Christian faith.
