Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on October 19, 1926, Theresa is the eldest daughter of the late William Francis and Mary Ellen (Nolan) McNeil. She was a member of the R.C.A.F. from 1942 to 1944. She passed away peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington on Tuesday, September 15, 2009. She is predeceased by her husband Jim Di Cecca, brothers Steve (Barb), Leo (Sarah and Vivian), Joe (Sally and Maria), Willie (Betty), George, sister Tena (Lawrence) McNeil, adopted sister Dianne Andress, son Billy and daughters Susan (Gerry) Forrington and special daughter Anna Marie. She is survived by sons Jim (Elizabeth), Paul, David (Tracy), Michael, Ric (Sandy), Christopher (Jan), and Peter. She is also survived by daughters Mary Ellen Rines, Margaret Stabb (Gary), and Catherine (Rene Hein), and daughters-in-law Pia and Rose. She is survived by two sisters Pearl St. Peter (Ken, deceased), Lucy Stangl (Fred, deceased) and three brothers Maurice (Joyce), Charlie (Bev) and Mac (Mary Anne), thirteen grandchildren, Vincent, Jesse, Shanna, Celina, Natasha (Salvo Muccio), Ashley, Natalie, Kristoffer (Sandra), Sebastian, Priscilla, Daniella, Jenna and Corinne and two great-grandchildren, Alicia and Isabelle, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North, Waterdown on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil for Theresa at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH, 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Waterdown. Special thanks to The Carpenter Hospice staff and to Dr. R. Cross for all their care. If so desired, donations to The Carpenter Hospice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
